01 — Your Voice, Not Mine
I don’t decide what to fight for. You do.
If I’m elected, I’ll run a survey every term asking young people what matters most. I’ll hold assemblies in schools — including the ones nobody visits. I’ll publish what I said in every meeting and what came of it. If I don’t know what you think, I’ll ask before I speak.
That’s the job. That’s why this campaign says delegate, not politician.

What This Role Can Actually Do
The Young Mayor isn't a councillor. Isn't an MP. Can't change laws or decide the budget.
What it can do: talk to the council, hold a small budget for youth projects, sit on committees, represent you, and campaign loudly.
As of September 2026, the Young Mayor has done three things. Helped write a youth strategy. Raised awareness of violence against women and girls. Raised £180 for charity. Not bad! But this is the youngest borough in the country with millions of pounds for youth budget. Three small things isn't enough, however. That's not his fault though – it's because the position has been made too small.
I want to make it bigger.

The Longer Term ✦ Not The Main Event
The Road Ahead
Young Mayor is where this starts. Not where it ends.
Everything on this site right now is about one thing: the Tower Hamlets Young Mayor campaign. That’s the live fight, and it has my full attention.
That’s not where it stops though! When I turn 19, I want to stand as an Independent for the people of Bethnal Green and Stepney with the EXACT same values that I hold right now — no party whip, no corporate money, and accountable only to the people who elect me. That is the future.
The Longer-Term Vision
Truthfully, I live in Poplar, not Bethnal Green. However, the diverse and electric streets of Whitechapel are where I spend my time — in the mosque, the markets, the streets that are closest to my heart.
I want to stand there because that's where the gap is widest. One of the biggest Muslim populations in the country. An MP who abstained when it mattered most. A majority that collapsed from 37,000 to under 2,000.
Same promise as now: no party, no politics. Just your voice.

Roots
I'm 16. Born in Poplar. Bangladeshi Muslim. Lived here my whole life. I'm in Y12, studying A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Politics, & Religious Studies.
Tower Hamlets is loud, crowded, full of life. It's also one of the poorest places in the country. Both are true. I'm tired of people only saying one.
My faith matters to me. It's where I get the idea that justice, peace and kindness aren't optional. Power to the people isn't a slogan I picked up, but rather, it's what I believe.
The Record
Serving as class representative for five years, I successfully reformed my previous school's harsh detention system (though my changes were eventually reverted after I left), raised hundreds of pounds for charity, and improved my peers' understanding of the real world around them by advocating for workshops to be delivered to them.
I later ran for head boy but finished second, becoming deputy head boy instead in a popularity-driven election.
Why No Party?
Party politics uses a whip system that forces MPs and other politicians to vote along party policies, which almost always ignores the democratic representation of the people.
By running as an independent candidate and staying out of party politics, I remain directly accountable ONLY to the voters who elected me.
THE STORY SO FAR
- 2021 Class rep in Year 7. Five successful years representing my classmates.
- 2025 Ran for head boy to bring "power to the people." Finished second. Became deputy head boy. Learned more from losing than winning.
- 2026 Started sixth form. Saw a comment under the Young Mayor's TikTok: "does the young mayor actually do anything?" Decided to answer it.
